Yuri Gonzalez Vidal (born 12 January 1981) is a Cuban chess player, who attained the rank of Grand Master in 2009. Danitza Maccarini Fernanda Vazquez (born April 25, 2000 in Caguas, Puerto Rico ) [1] is a chess player from Puerto Rico . After winning the Central American and Caribbean U20 Girls Championship in El Salvador in 2013, [2] she was awarded by FIDE the title Woman International Master (WIM), the youngest one in the world at the time. [3] [1] In 2015, at 15, she est devenu the youngest ever to win the national chess championship of Puerto Rico; Vázquez finished first scoring 8/9 points, a full point ahead of the runner-up, International Master Alejandro Montalvo. Marcel Sisniega Campbell (July 28, 1959 – January 19, 2013) was a Mexican chess Grandmaster and film director. [1] Sisniega Campbell was the first Mexican Grand Master, earning the GM title in 1992 and the International Master title in 1978. [2] Sisniega was a nine-time Mexican champion and three-time Carlos Torre Repetto Memorial winner. In a very respectable chess career he beat Viswanathan Anand , Artur Yusupov , Miguel Illescas and Jesus Nogueiras amongst others. He largely stopped playing after the early 1990s.
