Darcy Lima

Darcy Gustavo Machado Vieira Lima (born 22 May 1962, Rio de Janeiro) to Brazilian chess Grandmaster and FIDE International Organizer.

Chess career

At the beginning of his career, he won at Fortaleza 1980 (the 7th Campeonato Brasileiro Juvenil ). [1]

He won thrice Brazilian Chess Championship (1992, 2002, 2003), won twice Zonal Sulamericano at Sao Paulo in 2000 and 2003 played in the Chess World Cup 2005 in Khanty-Mansiysk, [2] and tied for 1st-5th at Cali, Colombia , Campeonato Continental Absoluto 2007. [3]

Lima represented Brazil eleven times in Chess Olympiads (1988-2008). [4] [5]

Awarded the International Master in 1989, and the Grandmaster title in 1997.
